#NigeriaDecides: In Jos, 21-year-old Shot Dead By Soldier At Polling Unit

At the Ali Kazaure Polling Unit in Jos North LGA, a 21-year-old was shot dead earlier today.

The deceased, Salim Nasir, a supporter of one of the political parties was shot dead following a face off with a supporter of an opposing party.

Salim reportedly brought out a knife at the scene of the argument and as the security operative tried to get the weapon off him, he refused to let go.

At the Sarkin Arab ward, a soldier was said to have shot at him after which he later died. Voting activities were hampered for a while following the incident.

Late Salim Nasir was said to have brought out the knife to stab the other fellow, and effort to stop him by the soldiers resulted in a brawl upon which he was shot.
