Jamb Cut Off Marks for University's and Polytechnics...

JAMB Cut off marks 2015 for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have not yet been released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board for obvious reasons. Latest update from a JAMB Staff had informed Students Nigeria‘s Editor that JAMB will not release official cut-off marks for 2015 admission until the whole CBT exam is over.
We understand that many of you are keen and eager to know the cut off mark for their schools as to help them decide whether or not they should apply for change of institution or course. We shall therefore make sure that we have our ears on ground to update you once a decision is taken from the top.
For the mean time, you may feel free to browse through our list of cut off marks for last year as listed below. But kindly note that these are just for 2014/2015. We will publish for 2015/2016 later when the exam end by March 21st or thereabout.
If we may have to speculate, recall that JAMB Cut off mark for Federal, State and Private Universities was 180 in 2013/14 session. Same year it was 150 for Polytechnics, Colleges and other degree awarding institutions. This trend went up to 200 (for Federals), 180 (for States and Privates) and between 160/170 for Polytechnics and others in 2014/15.
With available CBT result statistics we have seen, JAMB Cut Off Marks for 2015 may not be far from that of last year. However, let’s keep our fingers crossed. Always check back here on www.gurusloaded.com for the latest.

Academic staff Union • Strike continue

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) embarked
on an indefinite strike in October, 2013 to press home its
demand for improvement in the condition of service and
infrastructure in government-owned polytechnics,
monotechnics and colleges of technology.

It also demands that the Federal Government should
remove dichotomy between HND and degree holders.
They also demanded the release of the White Paper on
the NEEDS assessment of polytechnics and review of the
Polytechnic Act by the National Assembly, among others.
The government has met some of the demands, including
inauguration of governing councils and setting up of the
NEEDS assessment committees , but however the
National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union
of Polytechnics (ASUP) has resolved to continue its nine
months old strike pending the outcome of his meeting
with the Senate Committee on Education on July 1.
The President of the union, Chibuzor Asumogha, said that
a meeting of the committee and some education
stakeholders scheduled for June 24 did not hold because
no government official came.
“That meeting was supposed to be held, resolution
reached and agreement signed.

“It was against the backdrop that we fixed the NEC
meeting so that, if we have the resolutions, we will come
here and suspend the strike.
“Incidentally, none of the government official came for
the meeting and because of that the meeting did not
hold,’’ he said.

“This is the position of the NEC; we are meeting again
next Tuesday,” he said. We have been compromising
since 2013. We have continued to agree to suspend the
strike but at each point government always bridged the
agreement,” he said.
He appealed to the parents and students to continue to be
patient and support the union to achieve it goals
