Kano Pillars’ defender, Reuben Ogbonnaya has successfully undergone a surgery to remove the bullet that was lodged in his neck following the robbery attack on the Kano Pillars’ team bus in March.
Ogbonnaya underwent the surgery at the Aminu Kano teaching Hospital in in Kano and the surgery was a success as the Bullet was removed from the back of his neck. Ogbonnaya had initially continued to play for the Pillars with the bullet in his neck as the team were short on players and he finnaly decided to have surgery. “I have done successful surgery to remove the bullet at the back of my head and I am delighted it went well. I had a sacrifice for the club because we were short of players in the defence with some of our regular players down with injuries. I had to go for it after we couldn’t qualify for the next round,” Ogbonnaya told Goal.
Ogbonnaya would be monitored in coming days and should be back in training in no time.
