Port Harcourt - President Goodluck Jonathan has been denied the use of the 40 000 capacity Adokiye Amiesiemeka Stadium in Rivers State for the January 28 commencement of his South-South presidential rally, reports ThisDay
Gov. Rotimi Amaechi turned down Jonathan’s request to make use of the stadium on the grounds that the stadium is under construction.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier made use of the facility during the flag off of its presidential campaign rally on January 7.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, however, warned the governor to rescind his decision.
Felix Obuah, Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the PDP accused the governor of not being fair considering the fact that the APC had use the stadium twice for his campaign rallies.
