The doctor leading Sierra Leone's fight against an out-of-control Ebola outbreak has died after being infected with the virus. Sheik Umar Khan was called a "national hero" by the government after treating more than 100 patients. Just a few days ago he caught the deadly disease and was moved to a treatment ward run by Doctors Without Borders. Ebola has killed more than 670 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Recently, the top Liberian Ebola doctor succumbed to the disease, and two American volunteers are currently infected. The Liberian captial of Monrovia is reportedly ill-equip to handle the influx of patients and has run out of beds, leaving 20 patients with nowhere to go.
