It looks like Samsung is continuing its regular trait and working on
a mini version of its flagship Galaxy S6. Alleged photos of the
Galaxy S6 Mini have surfaced in a new leak.
As per the leaked images, the mini version looks similar to the
original Galaxy S6 in case of design. The exact screen size is not
known, but the S6 mini could have a 4.6 or 4.7 inch screen and a
have a 720p display. S6 mini will continue with the S6’s glass
panels indicating that it will come without a microSD slot and non
removable battery.
A previous GFXBench leak in May had stated that the the Samsung
Galaxy S6 Mini will pack the Snapdragon 808 processor. Other
specs rumored of the S6 Mini are 2GB RAM, 16GB internal
memory, 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing shooter. The
device will run on Android 5.1.1. There is no official word on the
release date of the Galaxy S6 Mini yet.

In a new twist, a former church insider has claimed that the terrible
Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) building collapse that
claimed many lives was a “sacrifice”.
A Nigerian evangelist who had worked with the church recently
claimed in an interview with Daily Telegraph in Accra, Ghana, that
Pastor T.B Joshua sacrificed victims of the church collapse.
The former SCOAN worker added that followers of the church should
expect more calamities.
The woman identified as Mabel further said that she was part of the
Synagogue game before God opened her eyes and sent her into a full
time prison ministry in Accra. She maintained that the SCOAN
collapse was a form of compulsory spiritual sacrifice which the
respected man of God had to offer to the gods behind his success.
She further said that two cows were buried alive in the foundation of
the main church auditorium. Mabel insisted that Pastor TB Joshua
avoided going to court during the initial hearing because lying will
forfeit the purpose of the ritual he used the victims for.She then
insisted that her interview should be published to reveal to those
that care to know that more calamities will befall Joshua soon unless
he repents and gives his life to Christ, forsakes his gods and stops
deceiving the innocent congregation trooping into his church from
everywhere in the world.
Meanwhile, a coroner investigating the collapse of the SCOAN
building has indicted the church for negligence.
Reports indicate that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board
(JAMB) has announced a reduction in its cut-off mark for students
seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
The examination body has reduced the cut-off mark to 180 for
admission to degree programmes, and 150 for national certificate in
education, national diploma and national innovation diplomas.
Premium Times reports that the JAMB registrar, Dibu Ojerinde, made
this known at a press conference on Tuesday, July 14.

On Tuesday the Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria
(TCN) announced that Nigeria had achieved a new electricity
transmission peak of 4545MW through its national network.
The Nation notes that according to the statement by Seun Olagunju,
the General Manager on public affairs, the feat was achieved at
21.45hrs on Monday.
The previous power transmission peak of 4517MW was attained on
December 23, 2012.
Previously TCN informed that electricity wheeling to the Distribution
companies has improved to over 4000MW due to improvement in fuel
supply to the power generation plants.
The organization says that it will continue to work towards
enhancing its power wheeling capability and reliability of the network
to be able to deliver more quality electricity from the Generation
plants to the Distribution companies nationwide.
TCN Managment states: “Expanding this support both bilaterally with
the individual countries and to the Multinational Joint Task Force,
which the Lake Chad Basin countries and Benin are in the process of
standing up to coordinate their counter Boko Haram campaign.” Reuters estimated that Nigeria, with a population of around 170 million, has installed power capacity that fluctuates between around 6,000 to just over 7,000 MW, but experiences severe electricity
shortages that are crippling its growth.

Sani Abacha’s sudden death caused lots of rumours
An event in 1998 that changed the Nigerian history. By June 1998,
Sani Abacha had ruled Nigeria for almost five years. Isolated by the
West, Abacha promised elections and a transition to civilian rule by
October 1998, but with just months to polls, all the political parties
nominated General Abacha as their candidate for president.
Professor Wali describes Abacha as “ a quiet person, calm person. He
could be really firm on some issues, but normally he didn’t talk
much ”.
He served as physician to the three previous Nigerian heads of state
after being reluctantly recruited in that role in the early 1980-s. He
considered himself politically neutral and lived outside the sprawling
heavily guarded presidential complex known as Aso Rock in the capital
Abuja. But he was always in the presidential entourage.
Professor Wali says Abacha’s health was not so serious before his
death. “Abacha was generally healthy though he had some health
issues, he was treated, he’s responded [to that treatment] very
well. He didn’t have any heart-related diseases at that time. ”
On the 7 of June, 1998 Wali’d been with Abacha, as he hosted the
Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat and all seemed well. The next
morning General Sani Abacha was due to fly to the OAU summit being
held in Burkina-Faso and professor Wali was due to go with him.
Professor Wali recounts that “around 6 am I had a phone call from his
security officers, and they said, “please come, come to the villa,
come urgently!” Before I even could get ready, they came and picked
me. I had no idea what it all was about. ”
The car carrying the doctor sped towards the presidential villa
through a special entrance – a shortcut which only the president was
allowed to use.
The doctor realised something was seriously wrong.
“I arrived then I saw chief security there and he said “doctor come
in, please, come in!” We all rushed and I just saw the president.
There was another doctor who came earlier, resuscitating him.
Abacha was in the sitting room. He was on the couch. He was in his
normal work clothes. I didn’t panic. I’ve seen a lot of serious
problems before in my practice, but to affect him was very tough,
definitely. I joined and we did as much as we could to resuscitate
him. But I realised that he was dead because he was fuming. We just
continued resuscitation and even injected some things, but it didn’t
work. ”
After 40 minutes trying to resuscitate the stricken general,
Professor Wali said General Abacha had died. “I said, sorry – there’s
nothing we can do ”.
There was no immediate public announcement, in a country prone to
coups, Abacha’s head of security first increased the guard around
the presidential complex and then called the heads of the armed
forces to gather to decide on his replacement.
“Immediately the security officer took over, and he invited all the
service chiefs to come to Abuja, by then most of them were based in
Lagos. ” says doctor Wali.
When the service chiefs arrived, some of them asked to see the body
to pay their respect to their former leader.
“They wanted to make sure, that he is dead. And some of them were
crying” – tells Wali.
Professor informed the family of what have happened. Obviously, the
sudden death of an apparently healthy head of state raised a few
questions.
Professor Wali was determined that there should be an autopsy to
find out what caused the sudden heart attack. After much
deliberating, the family declined, preferring the quick burial in line
with Islamic tradition. But the doctor was determined to find some
clues as to what have happened.
“I still try to take some samples of blood and urine and hair and
things like that, just thinking for the future chemical tests, ”
Professor Wali said, adding that “it’s very difficult to say [whether
he died of natural causes]. What I can see. The blood test we did, has
shown some raised cardiac enzymes [proteins that are released into
the blood by dying heart muscles].That’s why we thought maybe it
was cardiac attack.”
Every Nigerian has his own theory about what happened to General
Abacha. There are rumours that he was poisoned, or that he spent a
night entertaining young ladies.
Speaking on the rumours, Professor
Wali said: “when I entered [Abacha’s premises], there were no ladies.
It might be true but I did not see them. Concerning the poison, as I
said no post-mortem has been done, so I couldn’t assure whether he
was poisoned or it was a heart attack. ”
While the generals deliberated on who would take over, plans were
made to take Abacha’s body to his hometown in Kano later that day.
It was decided to finally tell the public what had happened. But the
mystery around Abacha’s death still remains seventeen years after
his sudden and unexpected demise.
Earlier Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, Chief Security Officer (CSO) of
General Sani Abacha, who was Nigeria’s military Head of State from
November 1993 to June 1998, told the press his own version of Sani
Abacha’s last days.
An explosion has just occurred outside the Federal High Court I, Port
Harcourt, where Justice Lambo Akanbi reportedly delivered a crucial
ruling this morning, July 9.
The Justice in his ruling said the decision of the Amaechi-led
administration to go ahead with the conduct of local government
election on May 23, was a flagrant abuse of court process and a total
disregard for the rule of law.
Akonbi explained that council election defiled the rule of law because
it was conducted despite court order asking all parties to maintain
status quo.
Speculations have it that the explosion outside the court premises
might have been a reaction to the ruling.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as at the time of filing this
report.
Meanwhile, Vanguard has reported that there was no casualty
recorded in the blast. A source also confirmed that there is heavy
presence of security operatives at station road where the High court
is located.

The Nigerian foreign exchange market continued to increase yesterday at the bureau de change (BDC) and black market as the value of the naira dropped to a low of N232 and N236.50 against the dollar respectively.
Daily Sun gathered that the value of the naira at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the interbank end of the foreign exchange market, however, remained stable as the green back sold for N196.95 and N198.58 respectively. At the BDC, the value of the naira against the pound dropped to N350.
Pressure had mounted on the naira at the parallel and black market after the CBN, a fortnight ago, curbed access to the dollar on the official interbank market for importation of a wide range of goods, shifting demand for hard currency to the black market.
The foreign external reserves, which had been trending downwards since last year, rose slightly to $29.157 billion, as at July 2 according to latest figures made available by the CBN. This is the highest figure since June 9, 2015 when it stood at $29.181 billion.
Meanwhile, the rate at which banks lend among themselves dropped as at the close of business yesterday. Overnight rate dropped to five year low of 5.1250 per cent while one and three months rates dropped to 14.1547 and 15.5823 per cents respectively. Six-month rate, however, rose slightly to 16.3288 per cnet.
The Nigerian army has released 182 Boko Haram suspects after investigations by the military proved they had no link to the insurgency group. Handing the men, women, underaged boys and children over to the Borno state governor Alhaji Kashim Shettima at a military base in Maiduguri yesterday July 6th,the Chief of Army staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah said the suspects have been acquitted.
“We have over 100 detainees who were
suspected to have link with Boko Haram.
They are 100 men, 24 women, 40 underage boys and 18 children. They have been cleared, we have decided to hand them over to the Borno State government. They’ve been thoroughly investigated and acquitted of any involvement in the activities of Boko Haram or connected with the group” The Borno state governor expressed gratitude to God for exonerating the suspects and pledged the state government’s support to them as they rebuild their lives.

We hope, you’ve read about the Blackberry Venice which is set to
be the first BB phone to run on Android and is apparently set for a launch on AT&T’s network in USA. Now, a new import listing shows that the Venice along with another model codenamed Dallas has been imported into India for testing purposes.
The import database website, Zauba has import listings of both the Dallas and Venice being brought to India for testing. The number of units are only a handful and are most likely being given out to BB’s own employees to test.
The listing doesn’t specify the operating system the phones are running nor does it state the codenames directly. But instead, it shows us the model numbers of the devices and also states the value of the Venice at Rs 63,262 per unit. While this is most certainly not the final price, the high price does sort of indicate that Blackberry will be aiming at the premium segment where Samsung and Apple are currently leading. Along with Android, we could expect high end specifications as well.
The Venice is expected to have a 5.4 inch display with 1440p resolution and a slide out keyboard. A physical keyboard is something that some users still crave for in a phone however most manufacturers don’t offer them and while Blackberry did, their OS limited the customer’s willingness to buy it. The device is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM and will support 4G LTE. There will be an 18 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front facing camera. Not much is known about the Dallas but we will keep you updated about more information regarding it and the Venice soon.

Following the leak of the Windows 10 build 10163 release notes on Friday by notorious leaker WZor, he has now followed up by posting a ton of images from that same build.
Unsurprisingly, the build shows little difference compared with the officially released Insider Preview 10162 - released on Friday by Microsoft.
No new features have or will be added to future Windows 10 builds until it gets signed off to RTM sometime later this month, but some welcomed bugs have been squashed relating to power management when a battery is present.

Minecraft is coming to Windows 10 beta on July 29th, the launch day. The popular game will be available in the Windows Store on Windows 10 from July 29 for $10 to new users.
Current players of Minecraft on the PC will be able to download the Windows 10 Beta edition completely free of charge from the Windows 10 Store. New users can play the game for $10 during the beta period. Players who download Minecraft Windows 10 Edition during the beta phase will still have the game when it comes out of beta, and receive all future updates to the game at no additional cost.
Users will be able to create and explore online with up to seven other friends using Xbox Live There are 20 million current Minecraft players on Windows so expect the Windows 10 beta to become insanely popular after launch.
Minecraft already is compatible with Windows, Mac, Windows Phone, iOS, Android,Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. Microsoft said that this version of the game will develop and evolve over time with the help of player’s feedback.
