It's been a point of contention for many a PC gamer that the latest in Rockstar's open world series, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is yet to hit their platform after releasing on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in September 2013. To further the agony the the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were out in November of last year. And now it looks like PC gamers will have to wait a bit longer.

What was originally scheduled for a January 27 release date has now been delayed to March 24, series creator Rockstar Games has said in a post on its site.

"Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March," the post reads.

Furthermore, the post explains that the game will run at 1080p and 60fps with up to 4K resolution. There will be support for up to triple monitor configurations, as well as Nvidia 3D Vision for stereoscopic output. Also, the multiplayer component for PC will support up to 30 players and include the Online Heists mode as well. In addition to this, the post details what you'll need to run the game in all its glory.

Minimum specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*Nvidia video card recommended if running Vista OS)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 4GB
Video Card: Nvidia 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100 Percent DirectX 10 compatible

Recommended specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
Memory: 8GB
Video Card: Nvidia GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB

Gowon tasks Team Nigeria to set new record in Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Glasgow - Gen. Yakubu Gowon, former Head of State, has tasked Team Nigeria athletes at the ongoing 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to strive for more medals in order to break new record.

Gowon, who spoke against the backdrop of the three medals won so far in the games, told the media on Saturday that the 127 athletes representing the country had the potential to surpass the achievement recorded at the New Delhi games in 2010.

“My advice to them is to encourage them to do their best and go for the ultimate price which is the gold medal; the joy in winning is not only a personal achievement but an honour to the nation,” he said.

While reacting to the silver medal won by Winifred Ndidi at the 58 kg women's weightlifting, Gowon said that she did exceptionally well “as you can see we are all delighted with her performance, if not for the cancellation of the second round point she would have won the gold medal.”

The media reports that Ndidi lifted 206 kg weight to emerge second to England's Zoe Smith who took the gold medal after setting games record with 210 kg weight.

Similarly, Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), commended Ndidi for the silver medal, but expressed disappointment at the cancellation of the 95 kg weight, saying “if not because they recorded her 95 kg as no lift, she would have even lifted higher than the 206 weight.”

Elegbeleye expressed optimism that the nation would win gold medals for weightlifting, saying “we are here for gold and have come prepared to win.”

Meanwhile, Ndidi who was emotional having lost the gold, told the media that “my target was to win the gold medals for the nation, it is sad that I missed out on it, but I did my best.”

“I want to thank Nigerians for their support but to say that I will continue to make the nation proud.”

Nigeria is represented by 15 weightlifters at the various categories in the weight games.

The 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow started on July 23 and will end on August 3.
