An Enugu based prophet, Anthony Nwoko has
predicted that neither Goodluck Jonathan nor
Gen. Buhari would be president after next
month’s election.
It was gathered that the same prophet had in
1993 prophesied the end of the military regime
of former head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.
In 1998, Prophet Nwoko also prophesied that
late military ruler, General Sani Abacha, would
leave the leadership of Nigeria in a mysterious
way and months later the man died.
Nwoko said:
“In 2010, I told Nigerians that they should
not expect much or any miracle from
Jonathan. Now, in this coming election,
Jonathan will only serve as John the
Baptist and Buhari has not got any
heavenly crown to rule and he will not rule
this country because he hasn’t got that
crown.
Don’t take my prophesies for granted
because I had also told General Abdulsalam
Abubakar not to make Obasanjo president
and I had also warned Obasanjo not to
make late former President Yar’Adua
president and my advice was not heeded
and you saw what happened”, he pointed
out.
He continued, “I had told IBB in 1993 to
leave office and it happened and in 1998, I
prophesied that Abacha would leave office
mysteriously, and you saw what
happened.”
When asked what would happen since he has
prophesied that the two leading presidential
candidates would not be president after
February elections, the 64-year old Prophet said:
“I can see the glory of Nigeria in the South
East and I don’t agree with Wole Soyinka
that Jonathan is Nebuchadnezzar;
Jonathan is a forerunner to the glory of
God.”
Reacting to recent comments by fiery Enugu
Catholic cleric, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mabaka, Prophet
Nwoko said he was not condemning the priest
but “I want to tell him that I can see the glory of
God in the South”.

Nigeria ’ s former president , Chief
Olusegun Obasanjo, has vowed not to
sacrifice his life for the any interest of
any party, but for Nigeria
only .
Obasanjo had, last Monday , when
he hosted some women leaders from
the South- West zone , stated that he
would sacrifice his life for Nigeria to
remain one indivisible entity .
He said this on Wednesday , while
playing host to the presidential
candidate of the National Conscience
Party ( NCP ) , Mr Martins Onovo, who
paid him a visit at his Hilltop residence
in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The former president insisted that he
would never close his eyes against
anything that would not be in the best
interest of the nation, while maintaining
that he remained a card - carrying
member of the Peoples Democratic
Party ( PDP ) .
He said he would not keep quiet about
issues concerning the country, saying
“every Nigerian is a stakeholder and
must speak up when things are getting
out of hand .”
He said ; “In this part of the world , we
have a saying that if people sleep and
they put their heads on the same
pillow , they are in danger and that
means there should be some people
that should be critically looking and
watching and also be able to speak up
when they should speak up .
“No matter what others may say ,
because people may come up and say
Nigeria doesn ’ t belong to anybody, I
believe that is a stupid saying , Nigeria
belongs to all of us because anything
that doesn ’ t belong to anybody,
anything can happen to it , for me
Nigeria belongs to all of us and we are
stakeholders in this country.
“Let me make my own position clear , I
am a card -carrying member of PDP
because that is the party on which
platform I became the president of this
country .
“My first pre- occupation is what is
best for Nigeria , Nigeria first, party
second and any other thing third.
Nigeria first means I’ ll sacrifice
anything for the interest of Nigeria and
I can sacrifice my own life for the
interest of Nigeria .
I can’ t sacrifice my
life for the interest of a party, I ’ ll
sacrifice my life for the interest of
Nigeria . ”
The former president extolled the
virtues of the founder of NCP , the late
Human Rights lawyer , Chief Gani
Fawehinmi, describing him as a
genuine social critic .
Obasanjo enjoined Onovo to follow the
footsteps of the late Fawehinmi, whom
he said , was a man of integrity and
honour .

National Association of Nigerian
Students (NANS), has vowed to mobilise
its members against the re-election of
Senator Abiola Ajimobi as governor of
Oyo State next month.
The group made this known at a press
conference addressed by its Assistant
General Secretary, Zone D, Oloja
Olanrewaju on Wednesday in Ibadan,
the Oyo State capital.
Olanrewaju, accompanied by over 150
other student leaders from Oyo, Osun,
Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos and Ogun State, said it
was unfortunate that the government
compelled graduating students to pay
N750 with the promise to give them
bursary but said nothing had been heard
about the promise since two years ago.
He described the collection of fees with
a promise of getting bursary as a way to
extort and further pauperise indigent
Nigerian students.
“As a result of the insensitivity of
Governor Isiaq Ajimobi-led
administration to the plight of students,
the leadership of NANS, Zone D, thus
pass a vote of no confidence on
Governor Isiaq Ajimobi and will thus
mobilise students against his re-election
come 2015", he added.
The group also condemned the
government’s slow pace in taking steps
concerning the House of Horror
uncovered in Ibadan, saying since the
discovery, nothing had been heard about
it again.
Olanrewaju while urging members of the
union across the South-West region to
collect their PVCs and vote for credible
candidates who will further their
educational advancement and protect
their mandate as future leaders.
Spokesperson of the PDP presidential campaign
organisation Femi Fani-Kayode has described
APC's presidential flag bearer as a rep of
darkness while President Jonathan represents
light. According to him, General Buhari's records
are shameful and disastrous. FFK said this while
addressing newsmen at the PDP campaign
headquarters in Abuja today January 7th
“We wish to inform you that it is our
intention to run a clean campaign that is
based on facts, figures and issues.
We shall
not indulge in the type of cheap
propaganda, mud-slinging and deceit that
the APC and their Presidential candidate
have been indulging in over the last few
weeks and months but it is our full
intention to expose General Muhammadu
Buhari for what he really is, what he stands
for and the great danger that his candidacy
portends for the unity of the Nigerian state
and the peace and well-being of the
Nigerian people.
More importantly, we shall let the world
know about the sterling performance of our
candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan,
over the last four years and we shall make
a strong case and appeal to the Nigerian
people to grant him the privilege and
opportunity to serve a second term. We
believe that we have reached a crossroads
in our nation’s history and that the
forthcoming Presidential Election is a battle
for the very soul and destiny of Nigeria.
We
believe that it is a struggle between light
and darkness. We believe that General
Buhari represents the darkness and that
President Jonathan represents the light. We
believe that General Buhari represents a
return to an ugly past which is best
forgotten while President Jonathan
represents our hope for a greater and better
future. We believe that the APC, on which
platform General Buhari is contesting the
presidential election, represents everything
that is unholy and unwholesome in our
society and that the PDP represents all that
is decent and good. “We believe that the
much-vaunted ‘change’ campaign of
General Buhari represents nothing but a
change from good to evil. If you want a
positive change, you cannot expect to get it
from a man like General Buhari whose
democratic credentials are questionable and
whose record in public office is shameful
and disastrous. Most people do not
remember the atrocities that he committed
when he was in power and it is our
intention to document them and remind the
Nigerian people about them.
Most people have chosen to ignore the
number of things that General Buhari has
said and the number of things that he has
done over the last few months and years
that have brought carnage, division and
strife in our society and that prove that he
is not the sort of person that can be
trusted with power. It is our intention to
bring those things to the attention of the
Nigerian people so that they can make an
informed choice. “We do not believe that
Nigeria ought to be run by a man that is
not capable of tolerating dissent or by a
political party like the APC that has no
sense of remorse, restraint or decency and
that is not capable of accepting a plurality
of views. We believe that President
Goodluck Jonathan has earned the right for
a second term and, in the next few weeks,
we shall make a humble appeal to the
Nigerian people to vote for him massively in
the February 14 Presidential Election. By the
grace and power of God, we shall prevail.”

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday came hard on
President Goodluck Jonathan for declaring his second term ambition,
a day after the massacre of almost 50 students in Potiskum, Yobe
State, reports Thisday.
The party described Jonathan’s action as utterly insensitive and
absolutely callous.
The party noted that Jonathan’s decision to go ahead with the
declaration despite the death of the students meant the President
was dancing on the graves of the students as well as of all the victims
of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai
Mohammed said since this President has chosen to celebrate a national
tragedy, Nigerians should also be ready to celebrate his electoral
failure in the 2015 presidential election.

Abuja - Following the call by opposition party, All Progressive
Congress (APC) asking President Goodluck Jonhathan to resign, the
president has said no president quits during war situations in the
country, Punch reports.
Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, in a
statement in Abuja said Nigerians should ignore the call as no
president in the world abandons his position during war situations.
Leaders of the APC including former Lagos State Governor, Bola
Tinubu and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu
Tambuwal, had urged President Goodluck Jonathan to resign from
office for running a system that does not have the interest of the
country at heart.
Okupe said when terrorists attacked the United States of America in
September 2001, the leaders of the Democratic Party did not demand a
resignation of President George Bush but rather they rose in defence
of the American nation to support the various measures taken by the
President to defeat the al-Qaeda terrorists.
